Event Descriptions
Interpretation speeches are selected printed literature, brought to life through the creative use of voice, movement, and facial expression.

Platform speeches are a prepared speech, written by the speaker (outside assistance allowed), on a topic of the speaker’s choice.

For Impromptu, each competitor will select one topic from a choice of two or three randomly drawn topics. Two minutes are given to prepare a speech. Junior Impromptu speeches can be any length (3 minutes max) and are judged on the original, spontaneously prepared speech within the room, using the selected topic as the central theme.
